    Home School Agreement

    The School Will:

    • Provide equal access to all pupils to a broad and balanced National Curriculum.
    • Encourage pupils to do their best at all times.
    • Encourage pupils to respect other children and adults who work and help in the school.
    • Encourage pupils to respect their surroundings and the property of others.
    • Inform parents of the progress of their child at regular intervals during the year.
    • Inform parents of matters for praise or concern affecting their child’s work or behaviour.
    • Inform parents about the broad aims for the teaching at the beginning of each term.
    • Keep parents informed about school through regular communications.

    The Parent(s) / Carer Will:

    • Make sure their child arrives at school on time.
    • Ensure that their child attends regularly and provide a note or message of explanation in the event of absence.
    • Support the school’s expectations of acceptable behaviour within the school environment.
    • Let the school know about any concerns or problems that might affect their child’s work or behaviour.
    • Support the school’s policy of dress code for daily wear and for P.E. and games.
    • Be expected to attend Parent evenings and pop-in times to discuss their child’s progress.
    • Support their child when engaged in home learning.

    The Pupil Will:

    • Always abide by the school’s code of conduct.
    • Always be polite, courteous and considerate to pupils and adults.
    • Maintain the good name of the school by their actions and behaviour.
    • Be punctual and attend regularly.
    • Be dressed correctly in school uniform.
    • Ensure that home learning activities are completed and returned to school or if advised use learning platform e.g Seesaw or Google Classroom.
    • Work to the best of their ability.

    Code of Conduct for Educational Visits

    All children and young people taking part in any educational visit organised by Ysgol Pen-y-Bryn must:

    • Be aware of the educational purpose of the visit and make every attempt to learn from the experience;
    • They must also for their own safety and the safety of others in the group:

    • Follow instructions of the visit leader and other members of staff including those at the venue of the visit;
    • Dress and behave sensibly and responsibly;
    • Look out for anything that might hurt or threaten anyone in the group and tell the visit leader or other member of staff about it;
    • Take no unnecessary risks;
    • If abroad, be sensitive to local codes and customs;
    • Agree to follow the code of conduct for the duration of the visit.

    REMEMBER

    • Be attentive and listen to instructions;
    • Be organised and careful with valuables and belongings;
    • Be punctual for all meetings;
    • Be polite and respectful to others;
    • Be caring and considerate to your friends;
    • Be helpful and co-operative to staff and organiser;
    • Be aware of danger around you!
